Your role is helping them understand how it actually works.

As a Secondary Computing Teacher, you will teach KS3 and KS4 students both practical and theoretical computing skills, building logical thinking and structured problem-solving.

Key responsibilities
Teach Computing across KS3 and KS4
Deliver lessons on programming, systems, and data
Break down problems into clear steps
Support students with coding tasks and projects
Prepare students for GCSE assessments
Track progress and provide feedback
Maintain structured classroom expectations

The classroom environment
Lessons are organised and step-by-step
Students understand tasks clearly
Work is completed logically
Behaviour is calm and consistent

Skills and experience
Experience teaching Computing or ICT
Strong technical knowledge
Clear explanation skills
Classroom management and organisation

What success looks like
Students complete tasks independently
Confidence improves in programming
Work becomes more accurate and structured

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with computing or technical backgrounds
